South County Health Infusion Therapy & Chemotherapy
401 788-1294, Infusion Therapy
Outpatient infusion therapy at South County Hospital is most commonly used for cancer treatment (chemotherapy), and is one of many cancer treatment services available at the Hospital’s Wakefield campus.
Infusion therapy, medical treatment in which medication is usually delivered intravenously, also is used as treatment for many other conditions, including anemia, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohns Disease, dehydration, and infection.
Our new infusion therapy center provides chemotherapy and other treatments in an open, climate-controlled space, illuminated by sunlight. The facility allows patients to choose the degree of privacy and social interaction with staff and other patients that makes them most comfortable, while keeping every patient in the sight line of our nurses' station. Members of the South County Health Patient & Family Advisory Council on Cancer Care tested and hand-selected the infusion treatment chairs based on comfort.
Treatment bays include windows, visitor chairs, personal space for belongings, Wi-fi connection, and television. Our Infusion Therapy Unit is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
