Cancer Conference at South County Hospital

Multidisciplinary Expertise

Hospital Cancer Conferences – multidisciplinary panels of clinicians who meet regularly for confidential discussion and evaluation of patients’ cases – channel their shared expertise for the benefit of individual patients, while building a rich reservoir of knowledge and experience that benefits all patients. Every week, the South County Hospital Cancer Conference convenes more than 20 hospital-based medical experts – medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgery, pathology, and other specialties – to discuss patients’ individualized treatment plans. Each weekly session encompasses a review of medical literature relevant to each case, as well as care coordination among specialists and a dynamic exchange of insights and ideas drawn from the collective knowledge and perspective of Cancer Conference members.
