April Silvestro, RN, BSN, CDE, CDOE
Coordinator, South County Hospital Diabetes Center
After graduating from the Newport Hospital School of Nursing, in 1985, April received her BSN from Salve Regina University in 1988. She is a National Board Certified Diabetes Nurse Educator and past chair of the Rhode Island Certified diabetes Outpatient Educators. April is a nationally certified fitness instructor and personal trainer, as well as a Reiki master/teacher. Since 1990, she has created diabetes education programs in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., and Chicago.

  Jeryl Menard, RD, LDN, CDE, CDOE
Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist
Jeri has been a member of South County Hospital's healthcare team since 1995. She received her BS degree in food and nutritional science from the University of Rhode Island, and became a Registered Dietitian through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in 1989. A National Board Certified Diabetes Educator since 2003, she is also recognized by the Rhode Island Department of Health as a Certified Diabetes Outpatient Educator. Jeri provides individual medical nutrition therapy for diabetes, heart disease, gastrointestinal diseases, and more. She often speaks on various nutrition topics via community presentations, and is the coordinator of South County Hospital's Diabetes Management and Support Group.

  Bonnie Seekell, MS, RD, LDN, CDE, CDOE
Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist
Bonnie received her BS degree in food and nutrition from Framingham State University and her MS degree in nutrition from Boston University. A National Board Certified Diabetes Educator, she is recognized as a Rhode Island Diabetes Outpatient Educator and a Cardiovascular Outpatient Educator. Bonnie offers nutrition counseling to individuals with diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and GI issues.  She also teaches in the diabetes six-week class program. She is a member of the Vegetarian Nutrition and Diabetes practice groups of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

  Delaine Wright, MS-CEP, CDE
Team Leader, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation & Wellness
In addition to holding degrees from Boston University and the University of Rhode Island, Delaine is a Masters-level Clinical Exercise Physiologist and a Certified Diabetes Educator/Insulin Pump and CGM Trainer. She specializes in exercise-related blood sugar management, as well as insulin pump therapies and continuous glucose monitoring. A national lecturer/consultant on diabetes, Delaine brings a unique combination of knowledge and understanding to her patients, as she has been living with Type 1 diabetes since 1983.
