08/28/17 - Weigh your backpack before heading off to school Dave Menatian, a physical therapist at South County Health, said that too often, the weight of books in a backpack puts undue strain on a child’s still-developing muscular and skeletal structure and could lead to back pain and other issues.
08/16/17 - South County Hospital among “Best Hospitals” by US News and World Report South County Hospital has been recognized as a High Performing Hospital in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2017-18 edition of “Best Hospitals”. It was the only hospital in Rhode Island to receive the “High Performing” rating for knee replacement surgery.
08/14/17 - South County Health named Healthiest Employer by PBN For the fifth consecutive year, South County Health was recognized as one of Rhode Island’s Healthiest Employers, an annual recognition by Providence Business News. 
08/02/17 - Specialized team working to improve diabetes diagnosis, care

Diabetes, in particular type-2, is increasingly prevalent nationwide. In Rhode Island, 11.5% of adults have diabetes and 36.4% have pre-diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association. To combat this local health concern South County Hospital formed a “Diabetes Champion Team.”
