'No Visitor' policy in effect as of Nov. 3

Following the Rhode Island Department of Health’s recommendation to re-implement a ‘No Visitor’ policy for all healthcare facilities, South County Hospital will restrict visitation beginning Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

Under the Level 3 COVID-19 restrictions, no visitors will be allowed inside South County Hospital’s inpatient units and Cancer Center unless they are a caregiver for a critically-ill patient.

The Women and Newborn Care Unit will allow for one birthing partner to accompany expectant mothers.

In certain cases, such as end-of-life care or the need for a medical decision maker to be present, hospital administrators may make exceptions to this policy on a case-by-case basis.

As the number of COVID-19 cases increase in Rhode Island and elsewhere, South County Health will continue to monitor this public health crisis and adapt safety guidelines in accordance with recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and the Rhode Island Department of Health.

South County Health staff will continue to support the need of patients and families to stay connected and communicate with one another.
