Jay Lockaby

After an extensive candidate search and numerous interviews of highly-qualified candidates by members of South County Health’s Leadership Team, Board of Trustees, and Development Team, I am pleased to announce that Jay Lockaby will join the Executive Leadership Team as Vice President of Development and Chief Philanthropy Officer.

Jay brings 20 years of fundraising leadership to this position, having directed successful capital campaigns, provided strategic planning, and worked collaboratively with board governance to exceed goals and bring organizations’ capital projects to fruition.

In his role as Vice President, Jay will also serve as the newly established Foundation’s Executive Director, working closely with the Foundation Board to engage high potential donors to underwrite key programs and services within our healthcare system.

His responsibilities will include establishing and executing an innovative philanthropy program to support our strategic plan, and actively drive participation of the Foundation Board to identify, cultivate, and secure major gifts that will strengthen South County Health’s ability to provide innovative, high-quality healthcare.

Jay brings many of the attributes we feel are necessary to build and sustain South County Health’s newly incorporated Foundation and has a proven track record of success and strategic focus that aligns with the ongoing, high-value capital projects we have initiated. He has managed numerous capital campaigns with goals of up to $250 million. In 2019-2020, he successfully guided fundraising efforts that netted over $134 million.

His employment will begin on Thursday, April 15, 2021. He and wife Tracy, son Owen (age 12), and daughter, Layla (age 9), will relocate from Florida to Rhode Island and are excited about becoming members of our community.
