High school students have many volunteer opportunities at South County Hospital and are an important part of our volunteer team. Whether you're looking to gain experience in healthcare or give back to your community, you'll be performing interesting and meaningful work. We welcome Student Volunteers (age 16 or older) and Junior Volunteers (age 13 or older), and Interns (students who receive course credit)

South County Hospital offers limited internships in patient care and non-patient care areas. Students interested in pursuing an internship must receive course credit through a college, university or technical/training program. Internships typically involve a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week for the course of a semester.
For acceptance into a program, please attend a Volunteer Services Department Information Session, held at 3:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month in the Potter Conference Center at South County Hospital. Information sessions are not held in January or July. After attending an Information Session, those interested in interning or volunteering should apply online and set up an interview.
