Kate Wishart Appointed Executive Director, Foundation and Community Engagement Officer
South County Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Kate Wishart as Executive Director, Foundation and Community Engagement Officer.
Kate Wishart
Kate brings more than 15 years of experience in healthcare and nonprofit philanthropy, with a proven record of advancing mission-driven organizations through strategic fundraising, donor engagement, and meaningful community partnerships. Most recently, she served as Senior Director for Development at Care New England, where she led system-wide donor strategies, major and planned giving initiatives, stewardship programs, and capital campaign efforts—including the campaign supporting the new Labor and Delivery Center at Women & Infants Hospital.
In her previous role, Kate closed transformational gifts, strengthened grateful patient philanthropy, and partnered closely with hospital leadership, providers, and boards to align philanthropic priorities with organizational goals. Her collaborative approach and strategic leadership have helped build strong, sustainable fundraising programs across healthcare, education, and community-based organizations.
Throughout her career, Kate has demonstrated an ability to foster trusted relationships—both internally with clinical and operational teams and externally with donors, volunteers, and community leaders. She has successfully led high-performing development teams, supported foundation boards, and driven growth through thoughtful strategy and partnership.
It is a privilege to join South County Health and to work alongside such a dedicated team in service of our community. As an organization deeply trusted for its commitment to compassionate, high-quality care, I look forward to partnering with donors, volunteers, and staff to strengthen philanthropic partnerships in support of our patients, our workforce, and the long-term sustainability of our organization. — Kate Wishart, Executive Director, Foundation and Community Engagement Officer
In this role, Kate will provide leadership for all Foundation activities, including major and annual giving, events, donor stewardship, board engagement, and community outreach. She will work closely with clinical, operational, and leadership teams to advance philanthropic priorities that support patient care, workforce investment, access, and long-term sustainability.
Please join us in welcoming Kate to South County Health. We are confident she will be a tremendous asset to our organization and a valued partner in advancing our mission to be Rhode Island’s Most Trusted Health Partner.
