A progressive Breast Health Center will bring expanded access, best-of-class physicians, and state-of-the-art technology to treat and prevent breast cancer.
We know that when breast cancer is detected early, in the localized stage, the 5-year survival rate is 99%. Clinical breast exams and mammograms along with monthly self-exams are key to early detection. In addition, it is also important to understand that while increased age is a risk factor, younger women can and increasingly do get breast cancer, as do men. As breast cancer cases locally and nationally rise with an estimated 13% (about 1 in 8) of all American females likely to develop invasive breast cancer in the course of their lives, we are firmly committed to meeting the local breast health needs with the creation of this Breast Health Center. But we cannot do it alone. We need your help.
