South County Health is pleased to announce that Desiree Desvergnes, RN, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, IBCLC, has been honored with the DIASY Award in recognition of her exceptional compassion and dedication to patient care. Desiree, a lactation specialist in the Women & Newborn Care Unit, was nominated by Megan McCarthy, a grateful patient whose experience was deeply impacted by her care. 

Desiree's support extended well beyond routine care. When Megan experienced a delay in receiving a hospital-grade pump, Desiree stepped up immediately, providing a temporary solution and actively working to secure a long-term option. She remained by Megan's side throughout, offering both practical help and reassurance. 

In her nomination, Megan shared, "Desiree's support was truly life changing. She helped me feel confident and capable, and I can't recommend her enough."

Meagan Griffin’s dedication to her patients and her ability to go above and beyond in ensuring their comfort and well-being embodies the very essence of this award.
