On Wednesday, July 29, the main lobby of South County Hospital was filled with more than 50 guests who gathered to enjoy a morning of world-class music. The special performance featured violinist, and 3x Olympian, Elizabeth Beisel, of Rhode Island, and Zachary DePue, Concertmaster for the Naples Philharmonic. The event was part of a groundbreaking collaboration between South County Health and the Kingston Chamber Music Festival.

While Robinson and Beisel connected after the concert, the musician and Olympian shared her own South County Health story, "I was born here."

This event marked the launch of an innovative social prescribing program at the South County Health Cancer Center—offering patients free access to live classical performances as part of their care. The initiative aims to bring the proven therapeutic benefits of music—lowering anxiety, lifting mood, and fostering connection—directly to those undergoing treatment.

By integrating music into the healing process, South County Health is embracing a holistic approach to care, treating not just the illness, but the whole person. The warm smiles, tapping feet, uproarious applause, and moments of quiet reflection during the performance were a testament to the power of music to comfort, inspire, and heal.
