South County Health is known for giving a little bit more, and what you all give to South County Health - the extraordinary compassion and care that you provide to our community and our caregivers does my heart good to acknowledge and celebrate with each of you tonight.”

Karen Grace was recognized as South County Health Volunteer of the Year for 2023 at the event. "That Karen’s last name is Grace is so apt. She really brings a graceful quality to everything she does." - Nadine Mollo McCauley

Nadine Mollo McCauley, Director of Patient Experience & Volunteer Services at South County Health, says “That Karen’s last name is Grace is so apt. She really brings a graceful quality to everything she does. Here at the hospital, that translates to the comfort patients feel when Karen is at their side. We are so grateful for Karen! She has given so much to our community. All of our volunteers are incredible, and being able to shine a spotlight on Karen in this way is a chance to share just one of those stories!”

Service Hours donated by South County Health volunteers during Fiscal Year 2023 totaled approximately 20,500. This represents a 12 percent increase over the previous year. At South County Health, volunteers provide essential social support to our patients, their families, and other visitors. Whether a volunteer is interested in greeting and directing visitors, handing out items from our Comfort Cart, or assisting with other tasks, South County Health can match them with the right opportunity. Volunteers receive the personal satisfaction of helping others, making new friends, learning new skills, and exploring careers.
