Strengthening Provider Wellness Through a Shared Culinary Experience
At South County Health, supporting provider well-being means creating meaningful opportunities to step outside of daily clinical responsibilities and reconnect with one another in new ways.
Recently, SCH providers Anthony M. Caporaso, MD, Robert G. Gianfrocco, DO, Joseph P. Turner, DO, Samuel Asamoah, PA-C, Diane McKeeff, APRN, and Christina M. Rodriguez, PA-C gathered at Taste Buds Kitchen in East Greenwich for a hands-on wellness experience centered around preparing a healthy, gluten-free Thai meal. Over the course of the evening, the six participants worked side-by-side under the guidance of a professional instructor to prepare a flavorful meal entirely from scratch.
The experience offered more than just a cooking lesson. It created space for collaboration, conversation, and connection in an informal setting, allowing team members to strengthen relationships while learning new skills together. From prepping ingredients to sharing techniques in the kitchen, each step of the process encouraged teamwork and engagement in a relaxed, supportive environment.
The evening concluded with a shared meal, offering a simple but meaningful reminder of the importance of community and connection across our teams.
Opportunities like this reflect South County Health’s ongoing commitment to provider wellness. By creating intentional moments to pause, recharge, and engage outside of the clinical setting, we continue to support the, well-being of those who care for our patients every day.
As SCH continues to explore innovative approaches to wellness, experiences like this highlight the lasting value of stepping away from routine to reconnect, with colleagues, with purpose, and with the joy of shared experience.
