Amanda Bernardi’s journey at South County Health is a story of growth, dedication, and a commitment. Amanda exemplifies how curiosity, hard work, and support from mentors can shape a rewarding career in healthcare administration.

Climbing the Career Ladder

I started at SCH as Senior Biller, where I expanded my knowledge in billing processes and developed a deep understanding of the organization’s operations. Through hard work and a commitment to supporting both patients and colleagues, I was able to grow within the organization and take on greater responsibilities. Over time, I progressed into my current role as the IAU and Referral Team Lead, where I help guide the team, improve workflows, and ensure that our authorization and referral processes run smoothly to support high-quality patient care.

“Amanda’s tenacity to understand root-cause of issues to correctly address them inspires confidence and trust.  Amanda is not afraid to offer bold, outside the box solutions.  Amanda is energetic, persistent, and curious; she brings a very positive attitude to SCH every day and leads her team with the same energy and support.” Rafal Wasilewski, Manager, Insurance Authorization & Follow Up

Learning and Growing with SCH Benefits

One of the most valuable benefits SCH has provided to support my development is the tuition reimbursement program. I am currently using this benefit while pursuing my Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). Having this support has made it more manageable for me to continue my education while working, and it has helped me build the knowledge and skills needed to grow professionally and contribute more effectively to the organization.

Why I Choose SCH

I value the strong sense of community and the opportunity to grow within a community hospital setting. I value being part of an organization that is dedicated to serving the local community and supporting patients’ needs. I’ve also appreciated the opportunities for professional growth and development, which have allowed me to expand my role and continue building my career here.

Advice for Colleagues

My advice for colleagues interested in a similar path is to take advantage of the learning and growth opportunities available at SCH. Be open to expanding your knowledge, ask questions, and seek out ways to take on new responsibilities. Utilizing benefits like the tuition reimbursement program can also be a great way to further your education and strengthen your skills. Most importantly, stay committed to continuous improvement and teamwork, as these qualities can open doors for advancement within the organization.

Life Outside Work

In my personal time, I enjoy being with family and friends and making the most of the summer months. You can usually find me at the beach, attending local events, or going to country concerts. I really enjoy being outdoors and taking advantage of everything the summer season has to offer.

Amanda’s story illustrates how SCH fosters growth from within and supports employees in reaching their professional and personal goals. Through mentorship, education benefits, and a strong sense of community, Amanda has built a career that reflects both dedication to patients and continuous personal development.
