“I joined South County Hospital in 2015, initially working at Home Health as the visiting nurse scheduler. I also spent a couple of years as the administrative assistant for Preadmission Testing. I joined the Supply Chain team in 2023 as the Senior Interventional Care Specialist and took on the OR Supply Chain Manager & Team Leader role in 2024.”

Who has mentored or supported you along your development journey?

“I have been very fortunate to be surrounded by incredibly supportive colleagues and leadership throughout my time at SCH. One of my oldest and best friends, Stephanie Maggs (MSN, APRN, FNP-BC), has been a driving force for me to step outside of my comfort zone on many occasions.

I would also like to specifically mention my director, Mary Phillips, as well as my fellow buyers, Courtney McGrath and Tara Cannavino. Their support and guidance have been crucial to my growth in my current role."

What South County Health benefits have been most valuable to your development?

“I believe the sense of support and collaboration, and the close-knit atmosphere of SCH staff is our most valuable asset.”

What has kept you at South County Health for 10 years?

“I have trusted SCH with the health and care of myself and my family long before I started working here—both of my children were born in this hospital. It was an easy decision to choose to work at SCH. What has kept me here for 10 years is the culture of our hospital. Regardless of role, everyone at SCH works together as a team.”

What advice would you give colleagues interested in a similar path?

“Never stop learning and asking questions. There are so many people willing to share their knowledge with you, and knowing even a little bit about the roles outside of your own can give you a better understanding of the part you play in the big picture at SCH.”

Tell us a little about your life outside of work.

“I am happily married to my high school sweetheart and a mom of two. In my free time, I love being outdoors—kayaking, hiking, and fishing are some of my favorite activities. I also love building koi ponds and landscaping in my yard.”
