Minimally invasive treatment for BPH reaches new local milestone.
South County Health has reached another major milestone in advanced urologic care, performing its 250th Aquablation procedure, the innovative treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), on November 11, 2025. The milestone procedure was performed by Arnold Sarazen, MD.
Aquablation therapy is an advanced, minimally invasive option for treating BPH, a condition that affects nearly half of men over age 60. The procedure uses the power of water, delivered with robotic precision, to remove excess prostate tissue and relieve symptoms while preserving sexual function and continence.

“Reaching 250 cases in such a short time shows how strongly Aquablation is resonating with patients who want effective relief without the side effects,” said Dr. Sarazen. “Our team is committed to offering this lifechanging care, and we’re proud to provide this option close to home for our community.”
The achievement highlights the expertise and collaboration behind South County Health’s urology program. In addition to Dr. Sarazen, Aquablation is also performed by John P. Heffernan, MD, FACS, Katelyn Johnson, MD, Alexander Lubin, MD, MS, and Joseph Cambio, DO.
Team members supporting the milestone case included:
• Arnold Sarazen, MD
• Carol A McMahon, RN
• Hank Ward, Surgical Technician
With 250 procedures completed, South County Health continues to lead the region in advanced BPH treatment—helping patients regain quality of life through faster recovery, fewer symptoms, and proven long-term outcomes.
