"I had a procedure done with Dr. Schneider in Wakefield, and was quite nervous about the appointment, which I expressed to the woman who took me back to the exam room. She was delightful, attentive, and calm. After the visit, I heard my name as I walked down the hallway. She came around the corner to ask me three simple words that meant so much, "are you okay?". Her genuine care and concern felt reassuring and uplifting. In this time when people are too hurried by the next task or distracted by cell phones, she stopped what she was doing to find me and ask about me. Dr. Schneider was equally excellent. I have worked for 20 years in healthcare and always strive to provide exceptional customer service. As a patient, now on the other side, the office experience I encountered the other day is the standard I aim to deliver as a healthcare professional daily. I wish I could remember the name of the medical assistant who roomed me, but she was lovely, and I wanted to take a few minutes to acknowledge her."

Expecting but don’t know what to expect?
With expert prenatal guidance from board-certified OB-GYN physicians and certified nurse midwives at our Center for Women’s Health locations, to a 5-star birthing experience with neonatal nurse practitioners and certified lactation consultants at South County Hospital, we’re here for every step of your pregnancy.
South County Hospital’s Birthing Center currently holds 5-Star Ratings from HealthGrades for C-Section Delivery & Vaginal Delivery and features neonatal nurse practitioners and certified lactation Consultants as part of the care team.
We were also the first hospital in RI to be designated Baby-Friendly (2000), an honor that was recently redesignated. This mark of excellence encourages and recognizes hospitals and birthing centers that offer an optimal level of care for infant feeding and mother/baby bonding.
Please note that all patients are now required to have credit card on file to schedule an appointment.
To better serve all patients, we've implemented a $50 no-show policy for appointments that are missed or canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice. This helps us offer open slots to others who need care. The card will only be charged if that happens.
Embracing Trust and Triumph: A Journey through TOLAC to VBAC

Starting January 5, masking will be required for all healthcare workers, patients, and visitors in all patient care areas and high-traffic areas (e.g., lobby and waiting rooms) at South County Hospital and all South County Health locations.
